IAC to spend Rs 2 lac every day for Anna's Mumbai fast venue

Mumbai, Dec 19: Indian Against Corruption (IAC), Mumbai volunteers on Monday, Dec 19 claimed that they will have to pay Rs 2 lakh every day to Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for using their ground, where Anna Hazare is scheduled to hold a hunger-strike from Dec 27 for a strong and independent Lokpal bill.

The MMRDA ground will provide the supporters complete accessibility and exceptional security to Anna and the visiting VIP's during the agitation.

Meanwhile, members from IAC, Mumbai said that they would finalise the total cost on Dec 20. When members asked about the doners, activists said that "we have many big doners. All we have to do is call them up. India is a rich country with poor governance and there are many individuals who are willing to foot the bill for the entire campaign so long as it reaches a conclusion."

Earlier, the volunteers wanted Azad ground for the agitation but a Bombay HC did not allow to hold rallies and political programmes in the ground. Later the activists decided to shift the venue to MMRDA ground.
