Madhuri Gupta case: Delhi HC to pronounce order on Jan 7

New Delhi, Dec 18: A Delhi High court will pronounce on Jan 7 its order on framing of charges against the Indian diplomat Madhuri Gupta accused of passing sensitive information to Pakistan's ISI during her posting at Islamabad.

After hearing the arguments of Delhi Police, Pawan Kumar, additional sessions judge reserved his order, which said that Gupta had passed sensitive informations including deployment of troops in Jammu and Kashmir and India's project in Afghanistan.

Rajiv Mohan, Public prosecutor submitted that the contents of these reports were India's property as it was prepared by the Indian High Commission.

The court deferred its order after the judge sought clarifications on the status of the contents which was prepared by Indian High commission as it was allegedly disclosed to ISI agents.

While, Joginder Dhaiya, Gupta's counsel contended the reports disclosed by Gupta, which was widely reported and published by the Pakistani media.

Moreover, She was arrested on Apr 22, 2010 by the Special Cell of Delhi police for passing the informations and has been charged with breach of trust, criminal conspiracy and various other provisions of the Official Secrets Act.
