Online child pornography racket busted in Europe

Amsterdam, Dec 17: After a year-long investigation, Europol on Friday, Dec 16 claimed that they have unearthed a child pornography racket scattered in 22 countries. The European police also arrested at least 122 people.

The investigative officials also claimed that modern technology and internet made their investigation more tough as it was easy for the culprits to hide their original identities while sharing the images and videos through internet.

After conducting the operation, officials stated that the operation shows "how the Internet is helping offenders to develop better techniques for sharing images on a global basis and for protecting their identity." "The problems involved are becoming harder to police," they added.

Police officials informed that more arrests are on the cards as almost 269 people are on the suspects list. The people are accused of making, circulating images and videos with children and toddlers in sexual activities.
