Bhanwari sex scandal: Cong MLA Bishnoi to be arrested?

Jodhpur, Dec 17: Congress MLA Malkhan Singh Bishnoi is expected to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday, Dec 17 to face the questioning in the Bhanwari Devi missing case.

The investigative agency stated that the Congress MLA might be arrested if he fails to appear for questioning on Saturday. Bishnoi has been evading appearance before the CBI despite being summoned three times earlier.

CBI sources said, "If he fails to turn up for questioning tomorrow (Saturday), then CBI might take legal action against him."

Citing the inaction from Bishnoi's side, the CBI had raided his residence in Jodhpur on Dec 14. Bishnoi's advocate reportedly informed the CBI that he (the Congress MLA) is in Delhi for treatment. However, reports have emerged that Bishnoi is at Bangalore consulting the case with lawyers.

In a startling revelation, Bhanwari Devi's husband Amarchand, who confessed to the crime over his involvement in the kidnapping case, had said that his youngest daughter was actually fathered by Malkhan Singh.

Malkhan Singh is one of the main accused in the case. However, there is still no news of Bhanwari's whereabouts.

The main accused in the case, sacked Congress Minister Mahipal Maderna, during the course of interrogation had confided that Malkan Singh and Bhanwari Devi had a long-term relationship and it was Malkhan Singh who introduced the nurse to Maderna. The sex CD that had come out also backed the claim with Maderna and Bhanwari seen in a compromising position.

It is believed that Bhanwari Devi was allegedly kidnapped by the powerful men in Rajasthan as she might have blackmailed them of outing the video in public.
