Arrest warrant against Reliance chief Mukesh Ambani

The case dates back to 2003 when the consumer, M. Joseph purchased a Reliance Infocomm mobile phone for Rs.24,000. He was promised many offers like free outgoing calls and SMS, but did not get the same in spite of repeated attempts. A petition filed in this regard was moved in 2005. The case was filed in the Thrissur Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum. The case is fought on behalf of the customer by advocate Seby J. Pulley.
After hearing the arguments, the court gave out its verdict that was favourable to Joseph and ordered Reliance Infocomm to pay Rs.24,000, along with 12 percent interest for five years. After waiting for a year, Joseph approached the court after not receiving the payment. He sought the help of the court in Mar 2011 to enable him to get the said amount.
The Thrissur Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum President Padmini Sudheesh, then directed to issue an arrest warrant against Ambani naming him first accused. The court also directed that he be produced in court before Feb 15.
