Mayawati government releases white paper

Cabinet Secretary Sashank Shekhar Singh said, "UP is the first state in India to have issued a White Paper on various functions and tasks undertaken by its 24 departments since Mayawati took over as the Chief Minister in 2007."
"We have uploaded full information related to the performance of 24 departments on the website of the UP government. I want to tell you that we have been able to maintain transparency in whatever work we have done so far," he said.
The move has come in the backdrop of allegations of corruption against the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati government by the BJP and other opposition parties, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, in his pre-election campaign in the state.
