Mumbai: Obscene dance birthday fete for Sonia Gandhi

Mumbai, Dec 13: Obscene dance was performed at Congress President Sonia Gandhi's birthday bash on Friday, 9 Dec by party workers at Goregaon (East).

Shocked over the incident, Nizamuddin Rayen, Congress Spokesperson, Mumbai, said that such incidents brought shame to the party. He said that he was unaware of the event.

He also said that the ceremony CD will be reviewed and the matter will be investigated.

"It is a matter of great concern if the party workers plan to celebrate Sonia Gandhi’s birthday in such fashion,” he said adding that a probe report into the matter will be handed over to the Mumbai Congress chief.

Gurudas Kamat said that he was clueless about the whole episode. He said that patriotic songs were being played till he was present in the function.

“I don’t know if such dance acts were performed after I left the function,” said Kamat.

“The unknown individuals are trying to defame party’s image with such allegations," he said.
