Mayawati lashes out at Cong on Lokpal; backs Team Anna

Reacting to the Lokpal draft report, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo on Wednesday's (Dec 14) all party meet on Lokpal said that BSP will demand the inclusion of Prime Minister and Group C under the ambit of Lokpal. Moreover, making BSP's stand clear on Lokpal, Mayawati said, "BSP will not support the bill in its present form in forthcoming all party meeting."
The UP CM lashed out at the Congress-led central government for not taking enough effort to bring out a strong Lokpal bill in the country and said that her government is taking strong action against corrupt officers and political leaders in the state. She further said that the Uttar Pradesh government has implemented "Janhit Guarantee Scheme" in the state to curb the corruption.
The Mayawati led Bahujan Samaj Party has 21 MPs in Lok Sabha and 8 in Rajya Sabha. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has called for an all party meeting on Lokpal tomorrow (Dec 14) to have opposition and alliance's consensus on the present Lokpal draft report which is likely to be passed in the current session of parliament on Dec 20.
