Internet censorship: UN Chief opposes Indian Govt's decision

Addressing a gathering at United Nations Information Centre on the eve of Human Rights Day, he said, "Today, within their existing obligation to respect the rights of freedom to assemble and expression, governments must not block access to internet and various forms of social media as a way to prevent criticism and public debate."
Meanwhile, Union Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal told that the government will evolve guidelines and mechanisms for the screening of internet content.
