Sharad Pawar
New Delhi, Dec 7: With the assault on Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar grabbing headlines, Pawar remained silent after Anna Hazare chose to launch a verbal attack against the incident. But after the attack by Harvinder Singh, Pawar has finally opened up and commented not on the attack but on Anna's comment.

Pawar said, "In the recent past, Shri Hazare by supporting the physical assault on me at a public function has given a new definition to the concept of Gandhism and non-violence. I have no objection to Shri Hazare expressing his thoughts regarding me or my actions. However, in the event of any further physical assault on me, it would be amply clear from where the instigation or encouragement for such acts emanates."

Anna had made his stand on the issue through his blog that condoned violence in any form. But his immediate comment on knowing about the assault on Pawar was, "Just one slap?". The blog, however justified the violent path taken by a select few and Anna said in his blog, "I admit that I committed violence when I said that. But for the betterment of society, I do not consider this violence as wrong. Many politicians felt very bad about the slapping incident....but it is important to discuss as to why did that youth slap?"

Anna also made a personal comment on Pawar when he said, "Mr Pawar has an old habit of keeping the company of corrupt people."
