AP: Chiranjeevi helps Congress, Jagan left alone, ditched

Chiranjeevi
Hyderabad, Dec 7: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Kiran Kumar Reddy and his supporters may remember Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) Chief, Chiranjeevi for a long time as the later helped Congress to defeat the united opposition-mooted no-trust motion on Monday, Dec 5.

It was a tough fight between the Congress and Jagan Mohan Reddy camp. While PRP MLAs' vote helped the Andhra government win the battle, Jagan seems to have been left alone as 13 members from his party returned to Congress.

There were speculations that many loyal Jagan supporters would leave his party as they were unhappy with him for being ignored in several crucial situations.

Citing Chiranjeevi's helping hand to the Congress, it is understood that the PRP Chief is expecting a crucial role in the state as the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi had promised him earlier.

In their last meeting in Delhi, Mrs Gandhi had assured Chiranjeevi an important role in the state cabinet.
