Devanand Konwar, Governor gave his approval for the bill on Friday, Dec 2, said Raj Bhawan sources.
The bill was approved by the state government on Nov 30 at a cabinet meeting presided by Chief Minister of the state, Nitish Kumar.
The take was, however, questioned by the opposition parties after the state government convened the same in an all party meeting on why the bill needed to be rushed and said that a debate should have taken place before its enactment as legislation.
The Lokpal Bill was also heavily criticised by Team Anna members - Arvind kejriwal and Shanti Bhushan who called it weak and a replica of the Centre"s Lokpal bill.
