Ratan Tata bats for FDI in retail through twitter comment

New Delhi, Dec 2: With the Foreign Direct Investment in multi-brand retail issue giving sleepless nights to the UPA government, a prominent face in Indian industry, Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata has expressed his support in welcoming FDI in retail through a

comment.

In a clear indication that he welcomed the move to receive foreign retail giants to set up shops in India, he tweeted, "Political differences and vested interests should never be allowed to stand in the way of India's economic progress."

In another tweet, Rata Tata said, "We should never let the extraordinary momentum achieved or the global visibility we had diminish." With this comment, Tata expressed confidence at the Indian growth story and its huge potential for growth.

In his last tweet on the issue, Ratan Tata said, "It would be a question of national pride for every Indian to rebuild the past glory and reestablish the country's economic leadership."
