Gadkari redefines CBI; calls it Cong Bureau of Investigation

Niton Gadkari
Kolkata, Dec 1: With the UPA caught in the FDI row, the Opposition is leaving no stone unturned to cause more hurt to the already hurt government. This time around, the war of words was launched by BJP President Nitin Gadkari who alleged that the Congress was using the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to settle scores with political opponents.

The country's federal investigative agency, the CBI has been renamed as 'Congress Bureau of Investigation' by Gadkari.

Speaking informally with media persons, Gadkari commented, "The Congress is constantly using the CBI against political opponents."

When confronted with the corruption in the BJP ruled Karnataka and the scam-tainted former Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa, Gadkari replied, "Tell me what are the allegations against him." He, however, did not make any comments on the Lokayukta report that nailed Yeddyurappa and said, "The case is now subjudice. We have taken action against him after the report form the Lok Ayukta. Everything will become clear once the High Court gives its verdict."
