Pune: Well-known actress in sex racket, arrested

Following a police raid in a row house near NIBM chowk in Undri, Pune, police nabbed three women along with Bapat accusing the women of their involvement in sex-racket.
The three accused have been arrested under the sections of prevention of immoral trafficking act (PITA). Giving details of Bapat, a police official said, "Bapat shifted to Pune from Kolhapur in 2004 and has been into the flesh trade for many years. She was not arrested before. She was charging Rs 4,000-Rs 5,000 to the customers in Pune."
Bapat, who is divorcee, reportedly has worked with many noted Marathi artistes. She had worked in some of the well known Marathi plays and films between 1983 and 1990.
