Punjab: Mysterious death; Magistrate's body found in canal

Ropar (Punjab), Nov 29: Missing Sub-Divisional Magistrate Karanbir Singh Mann was found dead on Tuesday in Rupnagar district. He was the Magistrate of Anandpur Sahib.

The dead body was recovered from the Bhakra Canal. On Monday, his official vehicle was also found near the Bhakra Canal at Lamlheri bridge at around 6 pm with his phone inside the car.

According to reports, he had talked to some senior police officers on phone and had informed them that he was going towards the canal.

Police are suspecting that Mann might have jumped into the canal or his death was due to some other reason. The mystery around his death is yet to be cleared.
