Kani receives hero's welcome after she walks out of Tihar

New Delhi, Nov 29: DMK MP Kanimozhi receives a hero's welcome when she walked out of Tihar Jail sometime on Tuesday evening. She was granted bail by the Delhi High Court on Monday after spending close to 7 months in jail.

The DMK party is rejoicing the release of Kanimozhi, with the most happiness expressed by DMK supremo M Karunanidhi who had pulled all stops to secure his daughter's release. She is expected to reach Chennai on Dec 3. But ahead of this, she will be received by senior DMK leaders like MK Alagiri, TR Baalu, Elangovan and others when she walks out of jail at around 7 pm today evening. The DMK is hoping to have a show of strength by rallying behind Kanimozhi.

Kanimozhi's husband Aravindan also spoke on Kanimozhi's release and said, "Obviously it was a big relief for the family. She is likely to come out in the evening as she has to be in the court now."

Apart from Kanimozhi, Kusegaon Directors Asif Balwa and Rajeev Agarwal, Cineyug founder Karim Morani, and Kalaignar TV MD Sharath Kumar have also been granted bail on sureties of Rs 1 lakh each and on condition not to leave the country without prior permission. The DMK MP has also been asked to submit her passport.

With some grand celebrations expected when Kanimozhi reaches Chennai on Dec 3, party leader Karunanidhi had promised Kanimozhi a position of prominence within the party.
