Infosys employee Smitha Rao's suicide - still a mystery

Bangalore, Nov 29: Smitha Rao, an employee at IT giant Infosys, committed suicide at her residence in Bangalore on Monday, Nov 28. But the reason behind the shocking and gruesome act has not yet been revealed. According to sources, her postmortem report, which is expected to come out on Tuesday, may help police to unveil the mystery.

Smitha, who used to write online content and Business stories and features in the official website of Infosys, was found hanging in her residence at Mantri Splendour apartments at Geddelihalli. She was taken to a hospital but was declared brought dead.

Bangalore police is expected to charge a case of unnatural death by hanging when they will receive the postmortem report of Smitha. Infosys officials have not responded to any query regarding Smitha's death.

32-year-old Smitha had worked as a Deputy City Editor with the Bangalore Mirror and as a Senior Correspondent with the The Times of India. Later she joined Infosys in 2010.
