K'taka govt orders COD probe into BBMP multi crore scam
Chief Minister of Karnataka, D V Sadananda Gowda told the media that corps of detectives will probe into various financial irregularities that have taken place in BBMP. A decision to this effect has been taken to ensure transparency in administration.
Currently, H Siddaiah, BBMP commissioner has filed a complaint with Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) police asking them to investigate into Rs 1539 crore financial irregularities in the BBMP wards which comes under the assembly constituencies of Gandhinagar, Malleswaram and Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
Congress and JDs have demanded for a thorough investigation in all the BBMP wards but BBMP Corporators and BJP MLAs are protesting against the action.
A fire had broken out at one of the rooms in BBMP, where records of the corporation were kept soon after Siddaiah lodged a complaint to BMTF.
