Chennai: Engineering Students or IM terrorists? 5 arrested

Chennai, Nov 28: Four engineering students along with a man from Delhi have been arrested over suspicion of them belonging to terror outfit - Indian Mujahideen (IM).

After conducting a search operation on Sunday (Nov 27) morning, security agencies arrested the five men from a house at Vijayaraghavan Nagar in Selaiyur.

Officials from security agencies have been quoted as saying, "All the students are from Bihar. Based on an input from intelligence agencies, the people staying in the house were picked up early on Sunday morning. Five of them were detained for further questioning while the others, including two software professionals, were let off after initial enquiry."

Senior police official informed that the search operation was conducted in relation to the finding of a bomb near the venue where BJP leader LK Advani had conducted his Jan Chetna Yatra in Madurai.

Police men also informed, "Another elderly man had also come to visit the students. He and three other students are now missing. The missing students are studying engineering."
