Big welcome for Kani when she comes home, says elated Karuna

Chennai, Nov 28: Unable to overcome his joy ever since he got the news of his daughter, DMK MP Kanimozhi getting bail in the 2G spectrum scam, an elated Karunanidhi said that the party would organise a big welcome for the apple of his eyes, once she comes home.

"I am happy that Kanimozhi has been granted bail. She spoke to me soon after the court gave her bail and both of us shared the happiness," said Karunanidhi, who met his daughter

"I am not an autocrat. Party will decide on giving new position to Kanimozhi," he said when asked if Kanimozhi would be given a new position in the party.

"I will discuss about his bail," said Karunanidhi when asked about A Raja's bail.

Kanimozhi, who was arrested by the CBI on 20 May, 2011 for playing a huge role in the 2G Spectrum scam was finally granted bail by the Delhi High Court today after she spent over 6 months in Tihar jail.

Apart from Kanimozhi, Kusegaon Directors Asif Balwa and Rajeev Agarwal, Cineyug founder Karim Morani, and Kalaignar TV's MD Sharath Kumar have also been granted bail on sureties of Rs 1 lakh each and on condition that they would not leave the country without prior permission.

"If the order reaches Patiala House by 5 PM, they will be out of Tihar Jail tonight itself," said Siddharth Behura's lawyer.

Kanimozhi was accused of allegedly accepting Rs 200 crore bribe for Kalaignar TV - where she owns a share of 20 percent.
