2G: Kani to go home after 7 mnths? Bail plea hearing in HC

New Delhi, Nov 28: DMK supremo and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Karunanidhi on Monday, Nov 28 may get to hear the good news that his daughter Kanimozhi will retur home after 7 months in Tihar jail. The Delhi High Court will hear the bail plea of the DMK MP who was sent to prison over her alleged role in 2G spectrum scam.

After the Supreme Court granted bail to the five accused in the telecom scam, Kanimozhi's chances to be freed have been increased. According to sources, Kanimozhi might be granted bail on Monday. The court proceedings will start at 10:30 am.

The court also will hear the bail pleas of the other accused in the case - Kalaignar TV Chief Sharad Kumar, Cineyug Films' Karim Morani, Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd directors Asif Balwa and Rajiv B. Agarwal and former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura.

The court earlier on Friday, Nov 25 had adjourned the bail pleas of all six accused till Monday. The persons, who have been granted bail by the apex court, were - Sanjay Chandra of Unitech Wireless, Vinod Goenka of Swan Telecom and Reliance Group's Gautam Doshi, Surendra Pipara and Hari Nair.
