'Maoist leader Kishenji's encounter is a political murder'

Kishenji
Karimnagar, Nov 27: The Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee Varavara Rao on Sunday claimed Maoist leader Kishenji's encounter as a 'political murder.'

“Kishenji's encounter is part of operation green hunt and the government should stop combing in the name of the operation. His (Kishenji's) encounter was a political murder," said Varavara, who went to the Peddapalli village to attend the funeral of Krishenji.

Varavara demanded that the police officials who killed Kishenji should be booked for murder. Kalyan Rao, a leader of the Civil Liberties Committee, blamed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Home Minister P Chidambaram and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee for the encounter.

On Sunday, Kishenji's body has been cremated in his native Peddapalli.

On Nov 23, the security forces including the CRPF had surrounded Kishenji and a few other top leaders in the forests of West Bengal and killed him during a 30-minute gun battle.
