CBI books Former SM Krishna's aide over DA case

New Delhi, Nov 27: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday has booked the former secretary of external affairs minister SM Krishna over disproportionate assets case.

The federal agency had once intiated a probe against K Dhanalakshmi, an IAS officer. Then she quietly moved out of the external affairs minister's office. Currently, she is the deputy secretary in the union minister of social justice and empowerment.

"During our probe, she has been found in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs3.15 crore, which were beyond her known source of income. Some benami properties were found in the mother"s name, who resides in Bangalore. Simultaneous raids were conducted at her Delhi and Bangalore houses. Documents recovered during raids are under scrutiny. Further investigation is on," Dharini Mishra, CBI spokesperson told the media.

Dhanalakshmi has been accused for acquiring huge movable and immovable assets in her name as well as in the name of her mother, even her name is there in the alleged land scam in Tronica city project in Ghaziabad, CBI claimed.
