Major fire breaks out in Crawford market area in Mumbai

Mumbai, Nov 26: A major fire has broken out at Mumbai's Crawford Market area. Many shops have been reported to be gutted with as many as 24 fire tenders rushed to the spot. There are no reports of casualties, but the damages are extensive.

Manish Market and Sahara shopping complex are reported to have been completely gutted in the fire. The fire is believed to have started at around 3am with the officials still grappling to put the fire under control. Municipal Commissioner Subodh Kumar said that all efforts are on to control the raging fire.

As many as 20 stalls were gutted and casualties could be averted since the incident happened in the early hours. The damages incurred is massive since the area in a major electronics and gadgets hub in the city.
