Kasab's name figured in 26/11 injured list,paid ex-gratia

Ajmal Kasab
Mumbai, Nov 26: The Mumbai City Collector's website put out a list where Ajmal Kasab, the lone survivor among the terrorist who carried out the 26/11 horrific attack has been identified as an injured person in the 26/11 terror attack and who had been paid ex-gratia compensation.

Later, clarifying the error, Collector Chandrashekhar Oak said that Kasab's name appeared due to a "bona-fide" error by employees who prepared the list. He further said that “the error has been corrected and a new list has been put up. No compensation has been paid to him for the injuries. It was a bona-fide mistake."

Maharashtra government had declared Rs 10,000 to minor injured people in the attack and there was a compensation announced through the PM's relief fund as well.

Meanwhile, the updated and corrected list has been featuring Kasab's name among the injured persons till Saturday, though it deleted the mention of ex-gratia compensation.
