The elephant in UP eating away all money: Rahul on Maya

Rahul Gandhi, who is on a five day public contact programme in the state, is continuing his tirade against the UP government on their governance.
Hurling the attack on SP leaders, Rahul Gandhi on Nov 24 had said that during previous SP rule, police stations were run by criminals. "In the past SP regime too, people did not get justice... At that time, police stations were run by criminals," he had said at a rally in Balrampur.
He also said that the Maya government branded farmers as Maoists whenever they demanded their rights.
"Whenever the poor farmers demand their rights, the officers of Uttar Pradesh government brand them as Naxalites," he said.
Rahul during his rally also criticised BJP and said,"In 2004 (during the general elections) the opposition had launched 'India shining' campaign...They can give this slogan as their leaders do not visit your houses, don't eat food with you, drink dirty water of your wells...they can say India is shining."
