Freed BS Yeddyurappa lands himself in fresh land scam

Bangalore, Nov 24: Scam tainted ex-Chief Minister of Karnataka, BS Yeddyurappa has now landed himself in another land scam case.

According to a report in India Today, the former CM has been alleged of purchasing a land in Shimoga district violating rules.

In his complaint to the Lokayukta, advocate B Vinod alleged that Yeddyurappa and his family bought over 105 acres of land in the last four years in Shimoga through shell companies and benami transactions.

The advocate also said that the value of the land is supposedly worth crores and sought a detailed investigation in the matter of acquisition of properties. The land purchased by the former CM includes 11 acres at Malligenahalli, 2.5 acres in Uragaduru, 45 acres in Hunasekatte and 5.01 acres in Guddada Arakere.

Yeddyurappa who was earlier arrested over a land denotification case was released from the Parappana Agrahara central jail in Bangalore on Tuesday, Nov 8.

Yeddyurappa is currently campaigning in Bellary.

“I am being forced to go to Bellary despite my bad health. The party candidate (Gadi Lingappa) has met me thrice and I have assured him of all support," Yeddyrappa had said earlier.
