Bangalore hit & run case: Facebook helping to nab culprit

Bangalore, Nov 24: Bangalore traffic police uploaded a video of a shocking hit and run accident in Facebook and sought help from the social networking site to nab the main culprit whose callousness could have caused a young man's life.

A CCTV footage shows a shocking accident in which a white Maruti 800 hit a biker who was waiting to cross the busy Hosur road in Bangalore. Fortunately the victim of the two-wheeler escaped death but received serious injuries on his left leg. The biker has already undergone through minor surgery.

Karnataka police, which has almost 18,000 followers in Facebook, uploaded the video and hoped that it (uploading the video on Facebook) may help them to collect extra information about the driver of the Maruti 800.

However, the social networking site indeed started helping the police as it successfully scattered the message among Facebook users. Now, time will show how Facebook can help Bangalore police to track the reckless driver of the white Maruti car.
