Rs 1cr gone on Day 1, still Parliament adjourned on Day 2
This time, ruckus among the MPs started over debates on price rise and Telangana statehood issues. Earlier on Tuesday, the House was adjourned when BJP led NDA did not allow Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram as they boycotted him. The BJP continued to show their rage against Chidambaram when the party spokesperson said, "We will continue to boycott Chidambaram because we see in him an accused, in the biggest scam of independent India that ran into high figures and no investigation independent or objective is possible till this man continues to occupy the powerful position of the Home Minister."
BJP and Left parties once again on Wednesday sought adjournment motion on black money and inflation in Lok Sabha. While the Left parties insisted on allowing adjournment motion under Rule 184 that entails voting, Congress led UPA pleaded discussion on price rise under under Rule 193 which means no voting on adjournment motion.
Here it can be mentioned that loss of four hours in Lok Sabha on Day 1 of winter session led to a loss of Rs 1 crore to the nation owing to a disruption over the opposition boycotting Chidambaram.
