Bangalore, Nov 21: The Central Intelligence Agencies along with CBI, NIA and the Bangalore police launched raids inside the Bangalore Central Prison from Friday as Intelligence Bureau (IB) intercepted calls that were made to Pakistan from the jail.

The Officials have detained few inmates for questioning and the raids were led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dr PS Harsha and his team. During the raids, several mobile phones and other contraband materials were seized.

Sources revealed that the agency has found that five calls were made to Pakistan from the Parappana Agrahara jail. In addition to that, the sources said, "It was a simple search operation and no significant seizures have been made so far."

IB Sources said that the issue is a matter of concern for the nation. The state's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Cyber Crime Police are investigating on the telephone calls.

"Mobile sets and SIM cards are easily available to some prisoners, who then flush them down the toilets after use," said officials.

The accused who were involved in the Bangalore blast and the members of LeT-linked Indian Mujahideen have been lodged at the jail.

However, senior police officials claimed that such incident couldn't have happened without the knowledge of prison authorities.

Last year, the jurisdictional police had caught a woman jail warder when she was trying to sneak in SIM cards and contrabands to earn some money.
