New rape theory emerges on nun's death in J'khand;7 arrested

Sunil Kumar Singh, Pakur deputy commissioner has been quoted as saying to media that a close aide of the nun had revealed to him that she was facing complaints in getting the rape complaint registered. Singh, however, did not reveal the identity of the woman. Singh added, "I immediately asked the concerned police officer to register the FIR. This was on November 14. Next day she was killed."
Seven people were arrested in this case including the alleged rapist, Adwin Murmu of Alubera village that is located two kms from Pachuwara. They are currently being interrogated by acting SP Amar Nath Khanna at Amrapara. Speaking on the case, Khanna said that the rape victim has been sent for medical examination.
The SP added that the Amrapara police station in-charge Banarasi Prasad has been put under suspension for not registering the rape case. Khanna commented, "Apart from reaching the crime site more than six hours after the murder, he (Prasad) has been charged with negligence of duty."
On being asked if the rape case led to the death of Sister Valsa, Khanna said, "We have not concluded anything.The investigations are going on. We hope to crack the case soon."
