Maya government transfers 'mentally unstable' cop

DD Mishra
Lucknow, Nov 19: Two weeks after DD Misra, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) was declared mentally unstable after he openly criticised the Mayawati government for alleged corruption, the top cop has now been transferred to the state Anti-Corruption Bureau.

An order was issued by the State Home Department on Friday, Nov 19.

DDD Misra was dragged out of his office by cops when he lambasted the UP government for "indulging in the biggest scams". He also levelled serious charges against the state government of corruption on certain official files.

The cop was admitted to a psychiatric ward soon after which he was declared mentally unstable.

It was however unclear if DD Misra has recovered from his mental illness as top officials declined to comment on how he was faring.
