Deadly accident in Punjab; Kabbadi team bus on fire, 2 dead

Two persons have been declared dead and ten players have been grievously injured in the accident which took place just outside the cantonment of the army camp in the city.
The injured persons including the women Kabbadi players have been taken to a nearby hospital. The incident happened when the driver of the players' team bus was caught between the steering of the bus and could not exit the bus at the right time. He is believed to have been burnt alive after he fell unconscious in the melee. Another police man, who was escorting the team, was also killed in the accident.
The doctor who was treating the injured commented, "Four persons have been admitted to the hospital. While two of them have sustained head injuries, one has a fracture in the pelvic region and the fourth one has received a chest injury."
The team which was in the state for participating in the on-going second Punjab World Cup Kabaddi tournament 2011, was on its ways to meet Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in Ludhiana.
