Actress Anushka Shetty faces I-T raid once again

Hyderabad, Nov 17: Looks like actors, actresses and others in the showbiz business are being caught on the wrong side of law, especially in regards to their Income Tax returns. The latest victim this time around is popular South Indian actress Anushka Shetty.

Income Tax sleuths are understood to have raided the actor's residence on Wednesday afternoon. It has been reported that the officials seized cash, bank passbooks and other documents from her residence in Jubilee Hills.

A sought after actress in the Telugu and Tamil film industry, Anushka is facing an I-T raid for the second time. Sources have claimed that a vehicle registered in the name of the Director-General of Income-Tax was seen entering the premises of Anushka's apartment. She lives in the 6th floor of Woods Apartments. The source added that the officials entered the premises around 2pm and left an hour later.

Anushka's manager, Raghu denied any such raid and stated that the raids were carried out in Anushka's neighbour's house who is a granite dealer.

An Income Tax official, on conditions of anonymity, cited that the seized documents will be studied and if any anomalies were found, a notice will be duly served.
