Bhanwari Devi: CD exposes Maderna, aides attack journalist

Jodhpur, Nov 13: Supporters of former Rajasthan minister, Mahipal Maderna, who has been hospitalised after complaining of chest pain, attacked a journalist outside a hospital in Jodhpur on Sunday, Nov 13. Maderna's aides attacked the scribe allegedly over covering missing Bhanwari Devi case.

The assailants attacked reporter of Hindustan Times, Dev Ankur outside the Jodhpur hospital where Maderna has been admitted for treatment. The former Congress minister's aides attacked Ankur's car, attacked the reporter brutally. However, initial reports claimed that the attacked reporter is working with Aaj Tak.

The main suspect of Bhanwari Devi case, Maderna skipped third round of CBI questioning over deteriorating health issues. Maderna, accused of being behind the kidnapping Bhanwari Devi, a Dalit woman who has been missing for 74 days now and now rumours also claimed that she has been murdered. Earlier, in a CBI interrogation the ex-minister admitted that he was in a relationship with the missing nurse.

Here it can be recalled that recently a CD, which was telecasted by a local TV channel in Rajasthan, partially confirmed Maderna's confession of relationship with Bhanwari Devi. The sleazy video showed both the accused and missing nurse in a compromising position.

However, Maderna's wife, Leela Maderna, stood by his side midst of allegation and maintained that her husband is innocent and the sleaze CD featuring her husband was doctored. Furthermore, as a duty-bound wife, she accused media of blowing the issue out of proportion and showing her husband in a wrong manner.
