Ex-Rajasthan Minister Maderna admits affair with Bhanwari

Jaipur, Nov 10: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday (today) grilled dismissed Rajasthan Health Minister Mahipal Maderna over his alleged involvement in Bhanwari Devi case (the case of missing nurse). The minister has admitted to having had a relationship with the 36-year-old auxiliary nurse midwife, said sources.

The agency had questioned the sacked minister on the basis of the CDs recovered by the central probe agency from a bank locker allegedly owned by the missing nurse.

Maderana was questioned at the CBI office in Jodhpur. The CBI has been directed by the Rajasthan High Court to submit an updated report on the same by tomorrow (Nov 11).

Meanwhile, the CBI paused the questioning for the day as the ex-minister complained of illness due to high blood pressure.

The 36-year-old auxiliary nurse-midwife, who was posted at a sub-center in Jaliwada village went missing on Sept 3 after a video clip exposed her in a compromising position with Cabinet minister Maderna.
