Pak washes hands off Ajmal Kasab; wants him to be hanged

Maldives, Nov 10: Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has disowned Ajmal Kasab, the lone captured terrorist in the Mumbai Terror Attacks 2008 and has declared that he is a non-state actor and is a terrorist and should be hanged. He added, "He must be sent to the gallows".

The two countries, India and Pakistan were meeting on the sidelines of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) with the Indian delegation led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai has been a bone of contention between both countries with the role of Pakistan in perpetrating attacks in neighbouring India a serious issue.

After being jailed, he was sentenced to death by the Bombay High Court and he has appealed against the order in the Supreme Court.

Both Prime Ministers from India and Pakistan were happy with the progress in the talks and said that they were moving in the positive direction. PM Manmohan Singh said, "We will resume dialogue with all the sincerity. I believe PM Gilani is a man of peace. Leave bitterness of the past."
