Team Anna opposes Nitish's new Lokayukta bill

New Delhi, Nov 9: Team Anna on Wednesday (today) rejected the Nitish Kumar's new Lokayukta bill which Bihar government is planning to introduce in state assembly.

Arvind Kejriwal, a key member of team Anna said that bill is same as the central government's old Lokpal bill. The new development comes a day after Team Anna member praised the BJP ruled Uttarakhand government Lokayukta bill, which was passed in state assembly on Nov 8.

Bihar's proposed Lokayukta bill stated that, state Lokayukta will be a three-member body led by a chairperson. The chief minister"s office will come under the ambit of the Lokayukta, as also its own investigation and prosecution wings. Meanwhile, JD(U)-BJP alliance ruled state ready to include some of the provisions of the Jan Lokpal Bill, proposed by Team Anna.
