Special courts to be set up under MNREGS: Jairam Ramesh

The special court will give punishment to the culprits who gets involve in the misuse of MNREGS funds, which are meant for the poor people. It has been decided after the corruption reports under the rural job guarantee scheme.
Andhra Pradesh has passed an ordinance for setting up of special courts for the accused officials, who can use the judiciary to delay the process.
Last month, Ramesh had written to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati to recommend a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe against those, who were involved in the misuse of MNREGS funds.
"I think it is a good initiative and it is worthwhile adopting this system in other states. We will consult the Supreme Court in the matter as well," said Ramesh
