Swamy asks Jaya to help end anti-Kudankulam protests

He said Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa must perform her "constitutional and statutory duties" to see that national interest is not sacrificed by those protesting at the "behest of anti-national forces."
Swamy's comments come after Kalam, who visited the nuclear plant site in Tirunelveli district yesterday, asserted that the project was "completely safe" as it is located in a low frequency seismic zone.
"I demand that the Chief Minister instead of pandering to the anti-national demand to wind up the Kudankulam Nuclear Plant, should give a notice to the demonstrators to clear out within 24 hours or alternatively invoke NSA, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Goonda Act to forcibly clear the area," he said in a statement.
