TN Nuclear row: Protesters boycott ex-President Kalam

During a demonstration in the region, SP Udhayakumar - the coordinator of People's Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) claimed that they would not discuss the issue (protest against Kudankulam nuclear plant) with the former president.
"Regarding the Kudankulam plant, we would not speak with Kalam," Udhayakumar stated.
However, the agitators assured that they would welcome Kalam as the former president, a senior citizen, and a Tamil.
Kalam is expected to mediate between the protesters and the government. The protest against the nuclear project is expanding day by day. Palayamkottai RC Diocese Bishop, a Jude Paulraj, participated in the agitation and claimed, "It should not be looked at from a religious angle. All sections of people are participating in the protest."
