Petrol price hiked: 'Singh' Baba Ramdev rides bicycle

Jalandhar, Nov 6: Yoga-guru, Baba Ramdev took a different path while protesting the recent petrol price hike which extended the jittery of the aam-admi (common people). Ramdev selected bicycle as his weapon against the government.

Showing his protest in Jalandhar in Punjab, Ramdev on Sunday, Nov 6 had a ride on bicycle in Jalandhar bazar (market). People at the region were shocked after seeing the yoga guru on bicycle on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, Ramdev's attire also caught attention as he decided to go a Singh's way. Ramdev wore a turban on head while riding on the bicycle on the roads in Jalandhar. [Watch the video: "Singh" on bicycle]

Here it can be recalled that oil companies recently hiked petrol prices by Rs 1.80 per litre to offset the fall in rupee that has made imports of crude costlier. After this increase, petrol in Delhi will cost Rs 68.64 a litre. The rates will vary in other cities according to local levies.

This is the second hike in petrol prices in less than two months and it came on a day when the food inflation rose "dangerously" to 12.21 per cent for the week ended Oct 22.
