Mecca: Hajj being live-streamed on YouTube

Washington, Nov 5: YouTube and the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information are joining hands to provide a live-stream of the world's largest annual human assembly, Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca.

"Millions of people from around the world will be able to experience and comment on the event by tuning in via video," the Google-owned video-sharing site said in a blog post.

The live-stream from Mecca is located at youtube.com/hajjlive. YouTube said it was being produced in cooperation with the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information.

According to the Consulate General of India, a total of 1,24,948 pilgrims have arrived from India. 1,24,882 are in Mecca and 3 pilgrims are in Madina. So far 435 flights have come from India. Around 2.5 million pilgrims are expected to have performed Hajj this year.
