Nitin Gadkari
New Delhi, Nov 5: BJP president Nitin Gadkari claimed that he does not visit any temple or perform poojas. However, Gadkari did not mind attending poojas performed by the Reddy Brothers who have been accused in illegal mining scam in Bellary, Karnataka.

Taking a different site on the Hindutva propelled by BJP, Gadkari said, "I don't go the temple. I don't perform puja," and also added, "Hinduism is a way of life. It is not about a religion."

Accepting the controversial side of "Hindutva", the BJP president stated, "political Hindutva is a debatable subject. We are a nationalist party. We have a lot of socio-economic thinking in our party."

Here it can be recalled that Gadkari with his family had attended a pooja at the Reddy brothers' house in Bellary on Aug 10. Many raised eye-brows when Gadkari visited Reddys' house as they (Reddy brothers) were indicted in the Karnataka Lokayukta report on illegal mining.

The Reddys were left out when Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda expanded his ministry inducting 21 members. Later the former Karnataka minister, Janardhana Reddy was arrested and currently is lodged in a jail in Andhra Pradesh.
