Patna High Court grants bail to Ex-RJD MP Shahabuddin

Patna, Nov 4: Former RJD MP Md Shahabuddin has been granted regular bail by the Patna High Court on Friday (today) in connection with a murder case in Siwan district in 2004. Justice HK Srivastava accepted Shahabuddin's bail plea in the case in which the man was killed by unidentified persons.

Police had later found his alleged involvement in the crime and approached the lower court to remand him to judicial custody early this year.

Md Shahabuddin, who is facing 40 criminal cases including that of murder, had been charged with act of treason, Arms Act, theft, Wildlife Act, possessing appliances used by the army and for keeping Pakistani-made fire arms and cartridges.

Meanwhile, Shahabuddin facing life imprisonment in another case related to kidnapping-cum-murder of a CPI-ML (L) worker would, however, remain in judicial custody. He is currently lodged in Siwan jail.
