Chavan takes review of law and order prior to Bakrid

Everybody was expected to obey the law and maintain peace and harmony, an official statement quoted Chavan as saying. Minorities Commission had set up a special helpline to resolve complaints, the Chief Minister said.
The state police control room will be operational throughout and citizens could call up to register complaints. Illegal trafficking of animals during the festival has come down as prevailing laws were being implemented strictly, Home Minister R R Patil said, and assured that complaints of illegal trafficking will be dealt with.
Minority Affairs minister Mohammed Arif Naseem Khan, animal husbandry minister Madhukar Chavan, MLAs Baba Siddique, Nawab Malik, Amin Patel, BMC commissioner Subodh Kumar were present at the meeting.
