Student gang-raped by auto driver and friends

Medininagar (Jharkhand), Nov 2: A teenaged student was today (Nov 2) gangraped allegedly by an autorickshaw driver and his three friends in Palamu district, police said. The victim girl has lodged an FIR against the driver Rupak Tiwari and three others after the incident happened near Dibiakhad under Town police station.

In her statement, the 17-year-old student, auto driver, victim said she had become acquainted with Tiwari while going to college. Tiwari allegedly intercepted her while going to college and took her to an isolated place where he and his three friends raped her one after another, sources said.

The girl, who reached the police station with the help of Medininagar Block Head Neera Devi, is a resident of Tuntu village under Latehar district and studying in G L A College, Medininagar. The girl has been sent for medical check-up, sources said adding that police has started investigation into the incident.
