No bail for Kanimozhi, to remain in jail

New Delhi, Nov 3: DMK MP Kanimozhi's bail plea has been dismissed by the special CBI court. The order on her bail plea has been reserved till Nov 11.

The DMK was extremely hopeful of Kanimozhi's release and the court's dismissal of the bail plea is expected to have political repercussions and a sizeable strain in DMK-Congress relationship. Most of the DMK top brass were in court along with Kanimozhi's husband and son.

The bail plea of the seven accused; Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Usman Balwa, former telecom minister A Raja's ex-private secretary RK Chandolia, Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar, directors of Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Asif Balwa and Rajiv Agarwal and Bollywood producer Karim Morani were also dismissed. The trial will now continue on Nov 11.

Sources have revealed that all the eight accused whose bail pleas were rejected will now move the High Court.
