Jet Airways flyers in mid-air scare; man threatens to kill

Jet Airways
Ahmedabad, Nov 3: Little did Jet Airways Mumbai-Ahmedabad noon flight passengers foresee such drama unfold during the course of the journey. The incident happened when a visibly depressed and suicidal man, started shouting mid-flight and threatened to break the window of the aircraft and open the door of the flight that was several thousand feet in air.

He was reported to be shouting, "I will kill myself and the all people onboard!" The person identified as 30-year-old Hardik Trivedi was on his way back from Muscat. He was depressed after he was duped there and also lost his job.

Creating quite a scare and moments of fear during the episode, Trivedi attempted to open the door and bit an air hostess in the ensuing melee. He also ran like a person possessed in the aisle of the flight and was threatening to kill all passengers in the flight.

He was later overpowered by passengers but only before he was injected with tranquilizers by a doctor on the flight. The doctor commented, "He seems to be suffering from severe depression." Trivedi also tried to rip his passport in order to hide his identity.

Following his arrest after landing, he was taken to Apollo Hospital for brief treatment. No FIR was filed as officials opined that he was suffering from a medical condition that led to such violent behaviour.
